Our Santa Ana dentists at OC Dental Center not only have 20 years of experience in cosmetic dentistry making patients’ smiles beautiful again, we also pride ourselves in being friendly and gentle. It’s our goal to make your dental office visit be the best you’ve ever experienced! From our hi-tech equipment, to our all-natural organic dental products, we know that our dental porcelain crowns can make your smile perfect again!

What Are Porcelain Crowns?

Crowns are caps that fit over a damaged or irregular tooth. Our dental crowns are made from porcelain. Porcelain is an excellent material for creating an artificial tooth because it has the same whiteness and durability of human teeth enamel.

Why Do I Need Dental Crowns?

A dental crown may be recommended if our dentist sees that you have any number of the following:

  • Broken, chipped, or cracked tooth
  • Tooth that has been overcome by decay
  • Irregularly-shaped tooth
  • Tooth that is discolored

What Can I Expect During the Porcelain Crowns Procedure?

In most cases, it takes about two visits to complete the entire process:

  1. Consultation – Our dentists will take a look at your teeth and gums to see what dental work has been done to your mouth already. We want to make sure that a dental crown is in fact the best treatment for you.
  2. Teeth Whitening Recording – We want to make sure the new crown we place on your teeth has the same whiteness as your other teeth, so we will measure your current teeth’s whiteness level.
  3. Base Tooth Creation – To make sure that the crown fits in with your other teeth, we gently file down around the affected tooth to create a base.
  4. Crown Bonding – Once we have the crown created from our lab, we will place the crown on your base tooth and cement it together.

Going to the Dentist Makes Me Nervous

We know that many people hate going to the dentist because they’ve heard bad pain stories from friends’ experiences, or they just have a fear of anybody working on their mouth. What’s great about our dentists at OC Dental Center is that we always keep up with the latest technological advances in dentistry so our procedures are many times done in a minimally invasive way with little to no pain.

Also, our dentists love answering questions and going over procedures with you first to make you fully understand the process and are comfortable. Lastly, most larger-scale dental treatments are needed because patients simply do not get regular dental checkups. Most dental problems can be prevented with simple bi-annual teeth cleanings or exams.
