We know that getting dentures is a big decision, and it’s important to find an experienced dentist to make the right recommendations for you. At OC Dental Center, you can trust our dental implant and dentures dentists (also called “prosthodontists”), because we have primarily built our practice from happy patients referring us to their friends and family. With over 20 years in the industry, we have perfected our consultations and procedures to help you receive the best dentures solution in Orange County.
Dentures are replacement inserts, similar to implants, that are made to look exactly like real teeth. They are molded to fit your unique mouth shape. Depending on how many teeth you are missing, you may need either partial dentures or complete dentures, which is like a new, full set of teeth. There are temporary/removable types, as well as permanent types.
During our consultation, we will be able to determine if you should receive partials or complete dentures. Typically, if you still have teeth, partial dentures may be best for you, however, depending on the condition of your teeth, it may be best for a complete set. Our prosthodontist will go over all of your options during the consultation.
Once our prosthodontist goes over your options with you and you both agree on the type of dentures, we can begin the process of creating your dentures. The process involves:
If you need partial dentures, the dentures procedure is similar to creating multiple crowns and bridges inside your mouth to fill in the gaps from missing teeth.
Dentures may feel foreign or strange when first bonded to your gums. This is completely normal. Just give your mouth and tongue some time to get used to the new object in your mouth. More information and tips such as eating, lifestyle, dentures care, cost and prices, will all be talked about during your consultation with our dentures dentist.
